This visa allows you to come to Australia on a temporary basis to participate in workplace-based occupational training or professional development activities.
The visa can be used to:
• Undertake occupational training required for registration, licensing or membership in your occupation
• Improve your skills in your current occupation, tertiary field of study or area of expertise
• Participate in a professional development training program supported by an Australian organisation
• Gain practical workplace experience in Australia
• Enhance your qualifications and career opportunities through structured training
Eligibility
You must:
• Be sponsored by an approved Australian sponsor
• Be nominated for an eligible occupational training program
• Have at least 12 months of full-time experience (or equivalent) in your occupation or field of study within the last 24 months (in most cases)
• Demonstrate that the training is genuinely required for your occupational development
• Meet English language requirements
• Meet health and character requirements
• Have adequate health insurance arrangements
Length of Stay
• Up to 2 years, depending on the occupational training program approved by the Department of Home Affairs.
